It was pretty easy to put together, which is where the star comes from. This is where the good stuff ends.The desk arrived damaged due to poor packaging (there was no damage with the box at all, the issue came from friction between pieces that were not properly padded). The color is not paint, but essentially shrink-wrapped plastic around paperboard. Some pieces had already had broken plastic, so they're damaged upon assembly. If I had spent $50 on it, I wouldn't be upset and would have expected this quality (and therefore would not have purchased it, but I digress...), but for the price I paid, I'm pretty annoyed.1 star, do not recommend. Purchase from Ikea instead...the quality is far superior.
